“Open Studio License Program” is off to great success with the user base expanding rapidly
We’re excited to share that our recently launched Open Studio License Program is off to a great start. Introduced at IBC last September, the program offers our entire Unreal-based graphics ecosystem at no cost to qualified SOHO (Small Office/Home Office) users, academic institutions, independent creators, and indie developers. In just three months, we’ve received over 300 applications and have already granted licenses to the first 50 participants—empowering them to elevate their workflows, expand their capabilities, and innovate without barriers.
Driving Industry-Wide Innovation
The Open Studio License Program is about more than just accessibility—it’s about enabling the next generation of creatives and technologists. By welcoming a broader range of users, from aspiring students to small studios and solo creators, we’re helping close the talent gap in the industry. At the same time, as this diverse community grows, they provide valuable real-world feedback that helps us refine our solutions. This virtuous cycle fuels ongoing innovation and ensures our platform evolves to meet the most current production demands.
Aligned with Epic Games’ EULA
Our program takes inspiration from Epic Games’ updated End User License Agreement (EULA) for Unreal Engine. Companies with annual revenues under $1 million can continue using the software at no cost, while those above this threshold move to a subscription model. This alignment ensures fair, growth-friendly access to professional-grade tools—nurturing emerging talent and pushing the industry forward.
