Zero Density Unveils Unified Template-Based Workflow for Broadcast Graphics at NAB

At the NAB Show 2025, Zero Density showcased a transformative leap in the world of broadcast graphics. Known for pioneering virtual production with Unreal Engine, the company introduced a complete end-to-end workflow that streamlines everything from virtual sets to on-air graphics in one unified platform.

For over a decade, Zero Density’s Reality platform has delivered cutting-edge solutions for green screen, augmented reality (AR), and extended reality (XR) production. The latest innovation, Lino, is a template-based, state-aware broadcast graphics workflow that revolutionizes how broadcast graphics are designed and controlled.

One Workflow for Every Broadcast Graphics Need

Zero Density’s Lino workflow represents a major evolution. Using Unreal Engine 5, Lino is a template-based, state-aware broadcast graphics workflow that allows users to design, manage, and control 2D/3D overlays, video walls, stingers, AR, XR, and virtual set graphics from a single solution. With the principle of “design once, use anywhere”, it eliminates redundancy and cuts design time dramatically.

In a live demonstration, Zero Density turned a compact LED stage into a full-scale virtual sports studio. Starting with what audiences see first—on-air graphics like lower thirds—Lino showcased how template-based elements built in Unreal Engine can be easily controlled through Reality Hub. Operators can execute all types of graphics with familiar commands such as “take in” and “take next”, but now within a workflow from a modern web-based interface.

Along with overlays, Lino unifies playout for AR, XR, video walls, and virtual set graphics—all within the same control interface. It supports custom-sized high-resolution video walls. Additionally, AR graphics are also template-based and come from Unreal Motion Design assets and are controlled using the same rundown.

This approach eliminates fragmentation, reduces learning curves, and empowers broadcasters to deliver consistent, high-impact visuals.

With Lino workflow, Zero Density is setting a new industry standard for broadcast graphics, offering unmatched creative flexibility, operational efficiency, and future-proof technology for broadcasters.

What’s Under the Hood

Augmented Reality

  • Camera movement is enabled through Egripment’s TDT Crane fitted with a 306 Remote Head, with Traxis Camera Tracking providing ultra-low latency and lens calibration with Traxis Hub, in addition to complete freedom of camera movement used in both the LED and Green Screen Virtual Studio stages.

  • All real-time graphics renders are powered by the EVO II Engine Hardware, delivering up to 40% performance improvement over the previous generation and achieving an industry-leading 5-frame end-to-end video delay, without compromising video quality.

  • LED stage lighting is structured with Kino Flo’s Mimik lights, optimized for integration with LED wall environments.

  • A DirectLight Pro 1.2mm LED wall from Planar is used.

  • Grass Valley LDX150 4K system camera is paired with the Canon CJ12EX4.3B IASE 4K Lens for this production.

On-Air Graphics

  • All creative assets, including lower thirds and full-screen graphics, are developed by the Zero Density Motion Design Team.

  • Reality Hub 1.6.5 version is used to manage Lino workflows for template-based broadcast graphics.
